Family Photography: My Journey Through the Lens

Photography has always been my preferred means of expression, a natural extension of how I see the world.

It all began on Parisian film sets, where I discovered the magic of visual storytelling. Watching a team recreate life, seeing how light sculpted emotions, how framing defined a narrative—these moments shaped my artistic vision. Immersion in the cinematic world taught me that every image tells a story and that every perspective can evoke a unique emotion. Those years on set became my first school, where I learned the delicate art of staging and the critical importance of light in creating authentic atmospheres.

In Vancouver, I took a leap out of my comfort zone, transforming my passion into a profession. For the first time, I was paid to share my unique vision of the world—a recognition that confirmed my calling.

From the start, I have been captivated by the female body, in all its strength and vulnerability, particularly that of my pregnant friends. This fascination naturally led to a deeply personal project titled Le Lien, a visual exploration of the unique relationship between newborns and the maternal body. This work, capturing the essence of the mother-child connection, was recognized and exhibited at two photography festivals in France, reflecting the universal nature of its message.

India marked another pivotal moment in my artistic journey. This land of endless colors opened my eyes to the beauty of faces, the richness of traditions, and the magic of fleeting moments. Every photograph was a story, every captured gaze a fragment of life. This transformative experience inspired an exhibition in Vancouver, where I shared my perspective of this fascinating country through my lens.

My work focusing on the female body and motherhood also led to an exhibition in Paris—a recognition that reinforced my commitment to this path. I am especially moved by the quiet strength of women in their daily lives as mothers—a subtle but unyielding power expressed in the simplest gestures. Then, love brought me to Australia, where a new dimension enriched my photography: becoming a stepmother. This role profoundly transformed my view of family photography, giving it new depth and meaning.

Today, my photography serves as a privileged witness to these precious family connections. My camera captures knowing glances, spontaneous laughter, and tender embraces that shape our daily lives. These are no longer mere photos; they are fragments of eternity, suspended moments that tell the intertwined stories of our lives.

As both an artist and a stepmother, I now understand more than ever the importance of documenting these moments. Each photograph becomes a bridge between the present and the future—a tangible reminder of the love that binds a family. Motherhood, whether by birth or by heart, is an endless source of inspiration, revealing beauty in the simplest moments of everyday life.

It is this artistic sensitivity, nourished by my personal experience, that I bring to every photo session. I don’t just capture images; I preserve emotions, connections, and stories. Every family has its own dynamics, its unique language of love, and it’s a privilege to immortalize them through my lens.

Family and maternity photography has become so much more than a profession to me—it is a calling, a celebration of love in all its forms. It is the art of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, of revealing the magic in shared moments.

And you? What’s your story? What are those precious moments you wish to preserve forever? Let me be the witness to your joy, the guardian of your most cherished memories.
